We’re seeking a skilled and proactive Plumbing Engineer to join our Building Services team and deliver a reliable, high-quality maintenance service across our site(s). This is a vital role that includes both reactive and planned preventative plumbing maintenance, supporting smooth day-to-day operations across the facility.
You’ll work closely with internal teams, external contractors, and clients, ensuring plumbing systems are safe, functional, and compliant, and that all work is tracked accurately using our CAFM system.
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week (Monday – Friday, with a 30-minute lunch break, working between 6:00 AM – 7:00 PM). Participation in an on-call rota and occasional overtime will be required. This role will include a company van.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out plumbing maintenance and repairs, including fixing leaks, unblocking drains, replacing taps, valves, washers, and pipework.
- Respond to urgent plumbing issues and emergency call-outs.
- Conduct planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on water systems, sanitary fittings, and drainage systems.
- Clear and maintain surface drains, manholes, gullies, and grease traps.
- Ensure water systems are compliant with health & safety and water hygiene regulations (e.g., Legionella awareness).
- Assist with minor installations, refurbishments, or plumbing upgrades.
- Use handheld PDA for logging tasks and maintaining records.
- Monitor and maintain external areas and plant rooms where applicable.
- Liaise with contractors and issue Permit to Work documents when required.
- Maintain accurate time sheets, stock levels, and service records.
- Ensure all tools, equipment, and PPE are used in accordance with health and safety practices.
- Work independently or as part of a team, providing excellent service to clients and site users.
- Participate in the on-call duty rota as required.
About You:
- City & Guilds Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing & Heating (or equivalent qualification).
- Demonstrable plumbing maintenance experience in a commercial or FM environment.
- Knowledge of water regulations, Legionella controls, and health & safety practices.
- Experience using CAFM systems and completing documentation accurately.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.
- Full, clean UK driving licence.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage priorities under pressure.
- Team player who can also work independently when needed.
- DBS clearance required (or willing to obtain).
