We are looking for an experienced and motivated Soft Services Team Leader to support the day-to-day delivery of Domestic, Portering and Catering services across site. This is a hands-on operational role where you will work alongside your team, providing guidance, support and supervision to ensure services are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard. You will lead by example, promote excellent customer service and help create a positive working environment.
Working closely with the Soft Services Managers, you will assist in maintaining service standards, supporting compliance and ensuring daily operational tasks are completed effectively.
Hours of work: 37.5 hrs per week, Mon – Fri 7am – 3pm, flexibility will be required.
- Provide day-to-day supervision and support to Domestic, Portering and Catering teams
- Allocate daily duties and support operational priorities throughout the shift
- Assist with staff rotas and provide accurate attendance and payroll information
- Carry out routine staff observations and provide coaching and guidance where required
- Deliver toolbox talks and support the induction and training of new team members
- Support managers with the implementation of service standards, policies and procedures
- Ensure cleaning, catering and portering tasks are completed in line with service requirements
- Support the safe movement of patients, equipment, supplies and waste where required
- Support food safety procedures, including HACCP monitoring, maintain high hygiene standards
- Ensure kitchens, food preparation areas and communal areas remain clean, safe and maintained
- Respond to operational issues and escalate concerns to the Soft Services Manager
- Promote excellent service and positive relationships with patients, visitors and colleagues
- Support compliance with health and safety, infection prevention, quality and company policies
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a Team Leader or Supervisor role within cleaning, catering, portering or facilities management
- A positive, hands-on approach with the ability to motivate and support a team
- Flexible and reliable with a proactive approach to problem solving
- Basic understanding of health and safety, infection prevention and food hygiene requirements
- Competent in using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and digital rota/payroll systems
- Experience preparing staff rotas or allocating workloads is desirable
- Level 2 Catering qualification (or equivalent) is desirable
