We are looking for a commercially driven and technically minded UK/Ireland Data Centre Manager to lead the growth of an established manufacturer's cable management and support systems across the data centre sector. This is a strategic, customer-facing role where you'll be responsible for developing relationships with hyperscale, colocation and enterprise data centre clients, as well as main contractors, MEP subcontractors, consultants and distribution partners. You will play a key role in influencing projects from the early design and specification stages through to order and delivery, using a consultative and engineering-led approach to position the company's solutions and secure new business. The successful candidate will combine technical credibility with strong commercial and relationship-building skills, identifying opportunities to influence specifications, develop project pipelines, increase market share and maximise profitable growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a growth strategy across the UK & Ireland data centre market.
- Identify and prioritise key data centre platforms, regions, frameworks and growth opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with hyperscale, colocation and enterprise data centre clients.
- Develop relationships with main contractors, MEP subcontractors, consultants, specifiers and distribution partners.
- Engage early in projects to influence design, specification and product selection.
- Provide consultative, engineering-led advice including value engineering, DfMA, system selection and compliance.
- Deliver CPDs, technical presentations and customer training to build awareness and support specification.
- Develop and manage a robust project pipeline, ensuring opportunities are accurately recorded and progressed through the CRM.
- Influence project and contract pricing strategies, protecting margins while developing commercially competitive solutions.
- Negotiate frameworks, agreements and commercial opportunities with customers and distribution partners.
- Work closely with internal Sales, Projects, Production and Supply Chain teams to ensure effective forecasting and successful delivery.
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends and use this information to identify new opportunities.
- Identify opportunities to increase share of wallet and expand the adoption of the company's systems across existing accounts.
- Support projects from early design and specification through procurement, order and delivery.
- Ensure a smooth handover of secured business to internal teams and maintain strong customer relationships throughout delivery.
- Travel extensively throughout the UK & Ireland in line with customer requirements, projects and bids.
About You

- A proven track record of influencing design, securing specification and converting projects into orders.
- Experience selling engineered products or solutions into data centres.
- Experience with cable management, containment, modular support systems or similar engineered products would be highly desirable.
- Strong technical understanding with the ability to confidently discuss load and space constraints, routing strategies, installation methods and compliance.
- A consultative approach to sales, with experience in value engineering, total cost of ownership and project-led solutions.
- Established relationships with main contractors, MEP subcontractors, consultants, specifiers and distribution partners.
- Strong commercial awareness, including pricing, margin management and long-cycle project negotiation.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills, with the confidence to deliver CPDs and technical presentations.
- Proven ability to develop strategic relationships and increase sales within key accounts and industrial markets.
- Strong CRM experience and disciplined pipeline management.
- Experience working within an industrial manufacturing/OEM environment is essential.
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Business or a related discipline would be advantageous.
- Experience with DfMA/offsite approaches or BIM workflows such as Revit would be desirable.
- Experience with adjacent engineered systems such as seismic supports, busbar/trunking interfaces, power and containment coordination or earthing/bonding would be advantageous.
