GFR Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of a client for a General Operative to join their well established client based in Walsall. This role suits someone with experience in the steel or metals industry who is confident working with cutting equipment and lifting machinery.
Pay: £13.00 - £13.50 (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday | 08:00 to 17:00
Benefits: Annual Bonus, Free Car Parking, Day Shift, Canteen Onsite, Temporary - Permanent Opportunity.
Location: Walsall
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and inspect incoming goods against delivery notes
- Operate band saw OR plate saw machinery to cut materials to specification
- Use measuring tools to ensure accuracy and quality
- Load and unload materials using an overhead crane
- Prepare and package orders ready for dispatch or collection
- Maintain accurate paperwork and stock identification
- Keep the warehouse clean, organised and safe
Requirements:
- MUST have a minimum 2 years experience in the steel or metals industry
- MUST have at least 1 year band saw experience
- MUST have overhead crane experience
- Basic maths and literacy skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
This is a General Operative role offering the opportunity to secure a permanent contract with a pay increase after the initial period through GFR Recruitment.
