Groomfield Recruitment are supporting a client in the search for an experienced Refrigeration Fitter to join their production team. This is a hands-on role involving the assembly, fitting, and testing of specialised cooling and air-treatment equipment. The position suits someone with strong mechanical fitting skills and a solid understanding of refrigeration systems.
Package:
- Salary: £35,000 per annum
- Production bonus
- Overtime rates available
- 40 Hours per week
- 20 days holiday plus bank holiday, extra day per year of service
Key Responsibilities as a Refrigeration Fitter:
- Mechanical fitting and assembly of components.
- Pressure testing and charging of refrigeration units.
- Electrical wiring of control panels (training provided where required).
- Cladding, finishing, and preparation of completed units.
- Functional testing of finished equipment to ensure performance and safety.
- Working from technical instructions and within planned build times.
- Ensuring high self-inspection standards and maintaining product quality.
Skills & Experience Required as a Refrigeration Fitter:
- Good knowledge of refrigeration and cooling systems (single and dual stage).
- Proven experience in a mechanical or refrigeration fitting role.
- Strong mechanical and electrical fitting skills.
- Experience in brazing, soldering, and pipe bending (copper tube).
- Ability to work from detailed instructions and deliver work within set timescales.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- F-Gas qualification preferred, though training may be provided for the right candidate.
