Purchasing Manager Location: Tamworth Salary: Β£35,000 per annum Hours: Monday Thursday 8:30am 5:00pm | Friday 8:30am 4:00pm Benefits: Free Parking / 25 days annual leave and bank holidays / Friendly office environment / Pension scheme. Role Overview We are recruiting for an experienced Purchasing Manager to join a busy manufacturing environment in Tamworth. This is a hands-on purchasing role suited to someone with previous experience managing raw materials, consumables, stock levels and supplier relationships . You will be responsible for ensuring materials are available to meet production demand, while maintaining appropriate stock levels, controlling costs and building strong supplier relationships. Key Responsibilities Manage raw materials and consumable inventory, ensuring stock levels are maintained to meet production requirements. Place and manage purchase orders, ensuring materials are available without creating unnecessary surplus. Monitor outstanding purchase orders and liaise with suppliers regarding delivery dates and lead times. Maintain replenishment parameters, lead times, supplier accounts and pricing within the company computer system. Monitor goods-in and resolve any delivery or supplier issues. Carry out regular stock takes and cycle counts to ensure inventory records remain accurate. Review supplier performance and identify opportunities to establish new supplier relationships. Negotiate with suppliers regarding pricing, terms and delivery. Monitor and control purchasing costs in line with business expectations. Report stock levels, purchasing issues and potential shortages or surpluses to management. Work closely with suppliers, technical and sales teams on new product development.
