Location: Skelmersdale
Pay Rate: £19.50 per hour + 30% shift allowance
Working Hours & Shift Pattern:
- Rotating shifts, Monday to Friday:
- Early: 6:00am - 2:00pm (Mon-Thurs) | 6:00am - 12:00pm (Fri)
- Late: 2:00pm - 10:00pm (Mon-Thurs) | 11:00am - 4:35pm (Fri)
- Nights (when required): 9:00pm - 6:30am (Mon-Thurs)
Flexibility to work nights on an exceptional basis is required.

We are recruiting Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technicians to join a busy manufacturing site in Skelmersdale on a 12-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced maintenance professionals with strong electrical and mechanical skills to support high-volume, automated production lines.
The successful candidates will play a key role in ensuring equipment reliability, minimising downtime, and supporting continuous improvement across production operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown repairs on production equipment.
- Diagnose and rectify electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and control system faults.
- Establish process conditions and perform in-line quality checks.
- Monitor and control processes using Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods.
- Support production targets by ensuring equipment availability, quality and efficiency.
- Maintain and improve procedures and maintenance systems.
- Build strong working relationships with production and engineering stakeholders on site.
- Support continuous improvement and root cause analysis activities.
Ideal Candidate Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years experience in machine maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
- Time-served apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical/Mechanical Maintenance.
- Experience working with automated assembly lines and robotics (ABB preferred; training available).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Confident working to SOPs and formal training processes.
- Experience carrying out root cause analysis and structured fault diagnosis.
