Role Overview

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established organisation for an Administrative Assistant to provide essential support to a busy training and operations team based in Skelmersdale. This is a hybrid role suited to a highly organised and proactive individual who is comfortable working within structured processes while managing multiple administrative tasks. The successful candidate will support a team of approximately 12 people, ensuring the smooth coordination of training activities and day-to-day administrative operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide general administrative support to the department and training team.
  • Coordinate training bookings, scheduling, and calendar management.
  • Process invoicing and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Handle customer queries professionally via phone and email.
  • Organise meetings, including booking rooms and preparing documentation.
  • Maintain filing systems and accurate record keeping.
  • Manage incoming calls, emails, and correspondence.
  • Assist with ordering supplies and general office coordination.
  • Support special projects, including data recording, compiling, and reporting.
  • Sort and distribute incoming and outgoing mail.

Skills & Experience Required

Essential:

  • 2 years minimum experience in an administrative or office support role.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise workload.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Confident telephone manner and customer service skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience using SAP or similar systems.
  • Familiarity with Lotus Notes.
  • Experience supporting training teams or coordinating bookings.
