On behalf of our client, we are seeking a reliable and hands-on Yard Coordinator to take ownership of the day-to-day operations within their busy yard and workshop. This is a key role within a growing business, offering long-term stability, progression opportunities, and the chance to work with a supportive and experienced team.
The Role
As Yard Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring all equipment is maintained to the highest standards, the yard operates safely and efficiently, and the wider operations team is fully supported with logistics and site preparation.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, clean, and prepare generators and associated equipment upon return from hire
- Ensure all machinery is hire-ready, including running checks and basic testing
- Liaise with the Hire Desk and Operations teams to prioritise workloads
- Safely operate a forklift to load and unload equipment
- Support drivers and engineers with vehicle loading and site preparation
- Assist with on-site tasks when required
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
- Ensure tools, lifting gear, and yard equipment are in good working condition
- Assist with stock control and maintain accurate usage records
- Work collaboratively with engineers, drivers, and office staff
- Uphold high standards across the yard and equipment presentation
Experience Required For The Yard Coordinator
- Experience in a similar yard, workshop, or operational role
- Ability to operate a forklift (licence preferred or willingness to train)
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- It is desirable that you have HGV Class 1 or Class 2 License (the higher ended salary will be for someone with this)
