Groomfield Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of our well-established client based in Birmingham (B6). Our client is looking for a reliable and hardworking Site Labourer / Machinery Mover. This is a full-time, temporary to permanent opportunity offering consistent work, overtime, and a varied role across site and factory environments. Ideal for candidates with labouring or site experience who are hands-on, flexible, and ready to get stuck in.

Salary: From £12.71 per hour (dependent on experience)

Job Type: Full-time (Temporary to Permanent Opportunity)

Working Hours: Core hours are 7:00am to 3:00pm; however, flexibility is essential. You must be willing to start as early as 5:00am (if you need to go to a site far away) and work until the job is completed. Due to the nature of the role, some days may extend into the evening (up to 7:00pm or 8:00pm) depending on machinery delivery times and site requirements.

About the Role:

We are currently looking for a hardworking and reliable Site Labourer / Machinery Mover to join our team. This is a hands-on role working across various site and factory environments, supporting the movement and handling of heavy machinery. Key responsibilities include:

  • Loading and unloading machinery
  • Heavy lifting and manual handling
  • Moving and positioning machinery within factories, plants, and site environments
  • Using a variety of methods and equipment to move stock, including FLTs (Forklift Trucks), gantry systems, skates, and other specialist moving equipment
  • Supporting site operations and maintaining a safe, organised work area
  • Strictly adhering to all health and safety policies and procedures at all times
  • Assisting with general labouring duties as required

You will work as part of a buddy system, travelling to sites in company vehicles.

The Person:

  • Has previous engineering, site, or labouring experience
  • Is hands-on and practical
  • Isn't afraid of hard work or getting their hands dirty
  • Has a strong work ethic and a get the job done attitude
  • Is reliable, punctual, and works well in a team
  • Is competent in moving heavy loads safely
  • Holds a full UK driving licence (essential)
  • Ideally holds a Counterbalance Forklift Licence (preferred but not essential)
