Distribution Centre Operations Manager
Salary: Β£53,000 per annum(dependent on experience)
Working Hours: 37 hour week; must be flexible to work between a 6am - 2pm and 2pm - 10pm shift; weekend support is required during peak periods.
Contract: 6 Months initially, with the view to be extended.
Groomfield Recruitment is working exclusively with a leading organisation to recruit an experienced Distribution Centre Operations Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of a large, fast-paced distribution centre.
This is a senior operational role offering the opportunity to lead a substantial team, drive continuous improvement and play a key role in delivering excellent service, operational efficiency and cost performance.
The Role
You will have overall responsibility for the performance of the distribution centre, including:
Leading, developing and motivating a large operational team.
Managing day-to-day warehouse, fulfilment and reverse logistics operations.
Driving KPIs, productivity, service levels and continuous improvement.
Ensuring high standards of health & safety, compliance and operational control .
Managing warehouse budgets and delivering cost-saving initiatives.
Planning resources and capacity around peak trading periods.
Optimising warehouse space, processes and systems to improve efficiency.
Working closely with commercial, finance, customer and operational teams.
Developing talent, succession plans and a strong performance culture.
Identifying and implementing Lean/Continuous Improvement opportunities.
About You
We're looking for an experienced warehouse or distribution professional who can demonstrate:
Proven experience managing a large-scale warehouse/distribution operation .
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Experience within retail, e-commerce, fulfilment or a similar fast-paced environment .
