Field Service Engineer

Our client, a well-established engineering services provider, is looking for a Field Service Engineer to join their growing team. You\’ll work across a Midlands based region (Preston to Oxford), carrying out service, maintenance, and commissioning of specialist equipment to industry-leading standards — with full support, autonomy, and recognition for the work you do. What’s In It for You? * £17.25 per hour basic rate * Paid door-to-door for all field-based work * Overtime paid at time and a half and double time * Company van, laptop, and phone provided * Early finish on Fridays – 15:30pm * Monday to Thursday 08:00am – 16:30pm * Supportive, flexible company culture that respects your time and effort The Role – What You’ll Do: As a Field Service Engineer, you’ll be responsible for: * Servicing and maintaining diesel generator packages and associated equipment * Diagnosing and repairing both mechanical and electrical faults * Using specialist tools and diagnostic equipment * Modifying and setting up systems to customer specifications * Attending breakdowns and participating in the on-call rota * Maintaining high standards of customer service and professionalism * Contributing to team training and knowledge sharing What We’re Looking For: * Solid experience with diesel engines and mechanical/electrical systems * A strong understanding of diagnostics and fault-finding * Knowledge of Deep Sea electronics and synchronising systems is ideal * Experience with AVR systems (advantageous but not essential) * Ability to work independently, confidently, and efficiently under pressure * Excellent communication and organisational skills * A customer-first mindset and professional approach Why Join?
