Are you an experienced Transport Planner or Logistics professional looking to take ownership of a major operational transformation project within a growing logistics business? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a rapidly evolving multi-site operation as a newly created Transport Planning Lead, supporting both day-to-day transport planning and the implementation of a new Transport Management System across the wider business.
Working closely alongside the Group Logistics Manager, this role will play a key part in modernising transport operations, improving visibility and driving efficiencies across a network consisting of 10 UK sites and 1 site in Europe. This position would suit an ambitious transport professional who enjoys operational planning, systems improvement and leading change within a fast-paced logistics environment.
The Role
- Support the implementation and ongoing optimisation of a new TMS platform across the business
- Become the internal “super user” and key point of contact for all system-related support
- Assist with the transition from paper POD processes to fully integrated ePOD functionality
- Deliver training and support to operational stakeholders across multiple sites
- Drive operational efficiencies and process improvements through technology adoption
- Support reporting functionality and transport visibility improvements
- Coordinate deliveries and fleet activity across the wider operation
- Manage subcontractor and courier movements
- Utilise the TMS system to optimise routing and fleet utilisation
- Coordinate a fleet of vehicles
What You’ll Need
- Strong background within Transport Planning, Logistics Planning or Fleet Coordination
- Experience operating within a fast-paced transport environment
- Confident communicator with the ability to support and train internal stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving and operational decision-making skills
- Proactive and solutions-focused approach
- Comfortable managing change and improving operational processes
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple sites and departments
