The Role: You will take ownership of a busy transport desk, ensuring the operation runs efficiently while leading and developing a team of planners and coordinators. Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the day-to-day transport desk operation
  • Ensuring the team is fully resourced and performing effectively
  • Acting as the first point of escalation for driver and customer issues
  • Coaching and developing planners to improve performance and service delivery
  • Working closely with fleet and operations teams to ensure vehicles are compliant, serviced and available
  • Monitoring service levels across key contracts and ensuring a high standard is maintained
  • Managing driver holidays, timekeeping and operational issues
  • Producing operational reports and identifying areas for improvement
  • Driving continuous improvement across processes including debrief, POD and admin functions
  • Supporting recruitment, onboarding and performance reviews within the team

The Person: Experience within a Senior Transport Planner / Traffic Manager role. Strong geographical knowledge of Ireland. Solid understanding of transport legislation and compliance. Proven ability to lead, coach and develop a team. Comfortable managing escalations and problem-solving in real time. Strong IT skills and experience working within digital transport systems. Highly organised with excellent attention to detail. Flexible approach to working hours when required.

What You'll Receive: Salary: €50,000 - €60,000 (DOE). Permanent, full-time position Monday - Friday day shift + 1 in 6 weekend rotation. Enhanced annual leave (service-based).
