Are you commercially minded, creative and confident using social media to build an audience, generate opportunities and grow a business? An established logistics business providing services across Road, Sea and Air Freight alongside Customs solutions are looking to appoint a Sales & Marketing Executive to play a key role in its next stage of growth. This isn't a traditional marketing role focused purely on creating content. The objective is straightforward: help get the business in front of more potential customers, create more conversations and ultimately generate more commercial opportunities.
You will help build the company's commercial pipeline through a combination of outbound prospecting, cold calling, inbound lead generation, social media and digital marketing.
The Role:
Working closely with the Business Development Manager and wider senior management team, you will be responsible for supporting and generating commercial growth across a number of channels. Your responsibilities will include:
- Proactively identifying and researching prospective customers and target accounts.
- Cold calling prospective customers to introduce the business, understand potential requirements and generate new opportunities.
- Building relationships with decision-makers through telephone, email, LinkedIn and other digital channels.
- Working alongside the dedicated Business Development Manager to develop target accounts and progress commercial opportunities.
- Using LinkedIn, social media, email and digital campaigns to generate inbound leads and enquiries.
- Managing and growing the company's presence across key social media channels, particularly LinkedIn and Facebook.
- Creating engaging content including posts, graphics, videos, customer stories, company updates and promotional campaigns.
- Developing a consistent content calendar focused on increasing reach, engagement and commercially relevant enquiries.
- Creating campaigns around specific services, sectors or target customer groups.
- Re-engaging previous or inactive customers and identifying opportunities to rebuild commercial relationships.
- Supporting the Business Development Manager with presentations, proposals, campaigns and wider commercial activity.
The Person: We're looking for someone with the attitude and personality to create opportunities rather than wait for them to arrive. Someone who is:
- Confident and comfortable speaking to prospective customers over the phone.
- Willing to make cold calls and proactively generate new business opportunities.
- Resilient and not easily discouraged by rejection.
- Proactive with inbound enquiries and comfortable taking ownership of follow-up.
- Naturally curious and capable of asking good questions to understand a customer's requirements.
- Commercially minded and interested in what ultimately generates revenue.
- Comfortable working towards measurable commercial targets.
- Creative and interested in developing new ways to generate inbound leads.
- Strong written communicators capable of creating engaging content.
- Organised and disciplined when it comes to prospect management and follow-up.
What You Will Receive:
- Competitive salary of £35,000 - £38,000
- Enhanced company benefits including pension, annual leave and healthcare
- Monday to Friday working
- The opportunity to work directly alongside an experienced Business Development Manager
- Exposure to the wider senior management team
- Training and support to develop your commercial skills
