Our client is a leading multi-disciplinary Common Law Barristers’ Chambers with offices in Birmingham, Oxford and Maidstone. Comprising 80 members, including 8 KCs, it’s renowned for exceptional client service and expertise in corporate, criminal, family, civil, commercial, and military law. This newly created Manager of Professional Fees role forms part of the Senior Team, reporting to the Chief Executive. It oversees billing, collections, and revenue reporting, ensuring efficient fee operations. The role offers the chance to help shape strategy, improve processes, and lead a high-performing Fees Team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Fees Team, promoting accountability and excellence.
- Implement efficient billing systems, leveraging technology to improve accuracy.
- Manage billing, collections, and aged debt, ensuring timely reporting.
- Build strong relationships with barristers, clients, and internal teams.
- Provide revenue analysis and actionable insights for leadership.
Key Skills and Experience
- Experience in managing teams and driving operational improvements.
- Expertise in billing, collections, and financial reporting, ideally in legal or professional services.
- Proficiency in case management software (e.g., Chambers Lex) and Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ideally 7 years’ experience in billing or financial operations - Chambers or professional services experience preferred.
- Knowledge of legal aid billing and public funding processes is a plus.
