Our Client is a market leading commercial and employment specialist Barristers’ Chambers with impressive offices in the Temple. Its outstanding team of 54 barristers, including 17 KCs (“Silks”) offer advisory and advocacy expertise to its domestic and international client base.
Chambers is seeking to recruit a highly suitable individual to the position of Junior Clerk to join its highly regarded, friendly support team. This entry level role, which offers outstanding career prospects, forms an important part of the support and management function of Barristers’ practices.
The Role
Duties will include
- Working with other Junior Clerks and wider team to ensure that all necessary tasks are performed daily
- Researching authorities (legal cases) in libraries and on the internet
- Lodging authorities and important documents with the courts and tribunals
- Transport of books and papers to and from court and tribunals, and other collections and deliveries as required
- General office duties including, photocopying, collection and management of DX mail and post, archiving and confidential waste
- Accurately inputting of information on LEX (diary and fees management system)
Person Qualities
A graduate/school leaver with the ability to consistently work well under pressure, you will be highly personable and very organised with an excellent attention to detail, a team player with a very flexible approach and attitude. You will also be driven and ambitious, keen to develop professionally and personally. You will be working with Barristers, so a professional, mature attitude is essential. An interest in Law will be advantageous but is not essential.
