The role: Working alongside our Sheffield-based accounts team responsible for six UK sites and seven overseas sites, you will join a fast-moving department covering a range of accounting tasks and responsibilities. Duties will include:

  • UK and overseas credit control management, including credit accounts, settlement discounts, rebates and debit notes
  • Developing and monitoring credit control policies and liaising with management to highlight issues
  • Building and maintaining relationships with all levels and departments to optimise cashflow and challenge where needed
  • Cash management both for the UK and overseas, including analysis and reporting
  • Cash flow forecasting for the group (UK and overseas) including various currencies
  • Reconciling of debtors, creditors and balance sheet accounts
  • Proactive analysis and reporting in all areas of the ledger

Who you are: You must be qualified by experience and should also be able to offer the following:

  • Confidence working with multiple IT systems (currently MS Office, Power BI and ERP), with good Excel skills and ability to adapt to change positively. We are currently transitioning ERP systems and knowledge of Microsoft D365 would be an advantage though not essential
  • An ability to work well both as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision
  • A flexible approach and strong organisational skills
  • Good people engagement and communication skills in all areas of the business
  • Credit control experience essential
  • Must have experience of cashbook, daily banking and general ledger work
  • Experience of working with currencies is desired but not essential
  • Strong experience in ledger management and fundamental accounting practices (i.e. double entry) essential
  • Ability to identify improvements and implement them
  • Previous work with a group of companies or multiple regions, and therefore able to work alongside international colleagues
