Financial Controller

We are now looking for an experienced financial controller to join our well-established Finance team as we approach an exciting period of change and growth across the global business.

Established in 1989, we are the original innovators and manufacturers of wire joining and tensioning devices, as well as anchoring, bracing, and suspension systems that have changed the game for many industries.

What is the role?

You will be part of a fast-paced department, responsible for six UK sites and seven overseas sites: covering a range of accounting tasks and responsibilities. Duties will include:

  • preparing management accounts, including variance analysis, financial performance reviews and providing financial insights to support operational decision making.
  • assisting in the preparation and management of budgets and forecasts in collaboration with department heads and regions.
  • monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and preparing reports for senior management.
  • costing and analysing stock globally.
  • calculating return on investment for proposed projects and capital investment.
  • conducting performance analysis including labour, profitability and other operational efficiencies.
  • working alongside a team of dedicated financial controllers and management accountants; forging strong day to day relationships.
  • working alongside product designers to deliver costing of new products.
  • ensuring compliance with financial regulations and internal controls including international transfer pricing.

Working hours

Mon – Fri 8.30am – 5.00pm

The Company operates a flexible working policy, with office hours of 7.00am-7.00pm Monday-Friday.

Who you are

You must be qualified by experience and should be able to offer the following:

  • Must have experience working within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience to include calculating and analysing direct labour, factory overheads, product costings & interpreting bills of materials.
  • Confidence working with multiple IT systems (currently MS Office, Power BI and E8, our bespoke ERP system), with excellent Excel skills.
  • Able to adapt to change positively.
  • An ability to work well both as part of an established team and independently with minimal supervision.
  • A flexible approach and strong organisational skills.
  • Good people engagement and communication skills in all areas of the business, including communicating with & advising non-financial departments/leaders.
  • Ability to identify improvements and implement them.
  • Preferably have worked previously within a group of companies or multi region, and able to work alongside international colleagues.
