The role: We are looking for someone technical, enthusiastic and flexible with a keen eye for detail. Reporting to a team leader, your main task will be to operate packaging equipment whilst ensuring the product quality is up to standard. Energy, enthusiasm and an ability to do some lifting are crucial.
What you'll be doing:
- Operating machinery and equipment to high standards ensuring targets are achieved
- Bagging, boxing and palletising goods
- Effectively prioritising customer orders to meet demand in a fast-paced environment
- Basic fault finding to identify machinery inefficiencies
- Undertaking asset care as part of your daily role
- Maintaining and driving forward 5S standards
- Using IT systems (E8 / Microsoft Dynamics) to update works orders and complete quality checks
- Completing documentation for traceability and invoicing purposes
Who you are:
Knowledge, skills and experience: Numeracy skills and an ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner, with a good standard of written and spoken English.
Personal attributes: Enthusiasm with a good work ethic and excellent interpersonal skills. An organised approach and ability to cope well under pressure. Good problem-solving capacity and ability to work on own initiative. A flexible, hard-working and 'can do' attitude and adaptability to changes in your working environment. A willingness to learn other disciplines. Self-motivation and the ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team. The drive to challenge machine targets, always identify areas for improvement and remain vigilant and observant.
Working hours: The position will entail working regular mornings and afternoons on a two-week shift pattern, Mon-Thurs 6.00am-2.00pm or 2.00pm-10.00pm and Fri 6.00am-1.00pm or 1.00pm-8.00pm. Night shift and weekend work may also be required to meet the demands of the business and you may also be required to help in other areas on site. A flexible, 'can do' attitude is therefore paramount.
