Grind is a coffee brand that lives and breathes London. Since we opened the doors to Shoreditch Grind in 2011, we’ve expanded across the city with vibrant cafes, coffee shops, and trucks - burning the candle at both ends to serve exceptional coffee, food, and cocktails to a killer soundtrack.

Today, we serve millions of cups of coffee across London and the UK each year, and we’ve helped hundreds of thousands of people make better, more sustainable coffee at home. You’ll find our coffee beans, compostable coffee pods and ready-to-drink coffee cans - in supermarkets across the UK and in hotels around the world.

Our locations are the beating heart of Grind. They are high-energy, fast-paced, and incredibly rewarding places to work. But we’re more than just great coffee; we believe coffee can be a force for good. From creating the UK’s first compostable coffee pods and using plastic-free packaging to carbon-free shipping, we are on a dedicated mission to be the world’s most sustainable coffee company. In 2023, we established the Better Coffee Foundation to help undo the environmental damage of the global coffee industry, recovering 43 million pods' worth of ocean-bound plastic in our very first year.

A bit about the role.

We’re looking for a talented Senior Digital Designer to join our Brand team and play a key role in shaping how Grind shows up across our digital channels. Reporting to the Head of Creative and Design, you’ll be a strong creative voice within the team, bringing your own perspective and ideas while taking ownership of digital projects and campaigns from initial concept through to final execution. You’ll be responsible for pushing the quality of our digital creative, making sure the work feels distinctly Grind and delivers real impact.

Supported by a Junior Designer, this role works closely with the Head of Creative and Design on larger brand campaigns, while collaborating with teams across the business to bring the Grind brand to life across every digital touchpoint.

Role responsibilities.

  • Lead digital creative projects and campaigns from initial concept and ideation through to final execution, taking ownership of both creative quality and delivery.
  • Develop standout, on-brand creative across our digital channels, including social, paid media, CRM, ecommerce, website and digital retail platforms.
  • Translate briefs and wider campaign ideas into compelling digital concepts that feel distinctly Grind and work effectively across different formats and customer touchpoints.
  • Work closely with Growth, CRM and Ecommerce teams to create commercially effective creative, using performance insights to test, learn and continually improve the work.
  • Partner with the Head of Creative and Design on larger brand campaigns, helping develop creative concepts and translate them into cohesive digital executions.
  • Support and develop the Junior Designer, providing clear creative direction, constructive feedback and guidance while helping them build their skills and confidence.
  • Own the quality and consistency of Grind’s digital output, ensuring brand guidelines are applied thoughtfully while continuing to evolve how the brand shows up digitally.
  • Create and develop motion, video and animated content, bringing movement and storytelling into our digital creative where appropriate.
  • Contribute to photoshoots and content production, from developing concepts and art direction through to selecting, editing and adapting assets for digital channels.
  • Stay close to emerging design, cultural and digital trends, bringing new ideas, tools and approaches into the team to continually push Grind’s creative output forward.

You’ll have.

  • Strong experience in a digital design role, either in-house or agency-side, with a portfolio demonstrating high-quality work across multiple digital channels.
  • Excellent knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Figma, with strong capability across Photoshop, After Effects and other relevant digital and motion design tools.
  • A strong understanding of typography, layout, visual hierarchy, motion and how great creative translates across different digital formats.
  • Experience taking creative projects from brief and concept through to execution, confidently owning your work and managing multiple deadlines.
  • A commercial mindset, with an understanding of how creative can influence customer engagement, brand perception and performance across ecommerce and paid channels.
  • Confidence presenting ideas, explaining creative decisions and collaborating with stakeholders across different disciplines.
  • Experience supporting, mentoring or providing creative direction to more junior designers.
  • A proactive and curious approach, with a strong point of view, excellent attention to detail and the confidence to challenge ideas while remaining collaborative.
