Job Description

To manage activities, monitor and progress of all marine production projects to ensure they are delivered to the correct specification and within the agreed timescales and budgets.

Objectives

Deliver the following Departmental objectives: -

• Command the marine workshop resources to deliver on the plan
• Drive lean/efficient, safe and compliant marine workshop practice
• Drive continuous improvement by
  internal development and by suggestions to Engineering/PMP&C

Responsibilities:

• • Provide leadership and direction to staff to achieve departmental and personal objectives

  • Motivate staff to achieve departmental and personal objectives

  • Plan and monitor departmental workload to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner

  • Monitor and feedback departmental and personal performance through visible KPI's

  • Ensure staff work to the correct marine standards and procedures

  • Ensure all marine outfitting work is completed to the required quality and customer standards

  • Develop and encourage teamwork and participation

  • Manage staff attendance, productivity and attitude

  • Develop, encourage and nurture a problem-solving culture within the department

  • Maintain standards for Health and Safety within department

  • Take responsibility to ensure that the company’s environmental policies are enforced in full

  • Ensure all marine outfitting activities are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications
  and applicable marine standards and regulations

Experience/Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ Diploma/Extended Diploma in Marine Engineering
