Job Descriptions
To supervise and support the Paint Team ensuring all painting activities are completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standard. The role will provide day-to-day direction to the team, monitor progress against production requirements and ensure any issues are identified and addressed quickly.
Objectives/Responsibilities
- Allocate daily tasks and ensure the team understands priorities.
• Monitor progress, quality and workmanship.
• Ensure Health & Safety requirements are followed.
• Support the team to meet production targets and deadlines.
• Identify and resolve issues quickly.
• Support training and development of team members. -
Day-to-day supervision and support of the Paint Team. • Allocation of work based on skills and workload. • Checking quality and reducing rework. • Monitoring attendance, timekeeping and performance. • Ensuring materials, equipment and PPE are available. • Working with other supervisors and departments to keep production moving. • Maintaining good housekeeping and safe working areas. • Leading by example and encouraging good teamwork.
- Review and maintain risk assessments and COSHH assessments for the preparation and application of coatings.
- Monitor stock levels, control usage and minimise waste.
- Ensure correct storage, handling, disposal and use of paints
- Identify ways to improve productivity, reduced paint consumption and improve finish quality
Experience/Qualifications
Experience supervising or leading a team.
• Experience in marine painting and surface preparation.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety and quality requirements.
• Able to solve problems and work to deadlines.
• Good attention to detail and high standards of workmanship.
