Job Description
The Boat Outfitter will be responsible for general outfitting tasks, including working on sub-assemblies and components, fitting them to the boat, dress beading joints, and bolting parts together. This role requires experience with GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic), adherence to engineering standards, and an understanding of ISO standards.
Objectives
·Perform general outfitting tasks, including fitting sub-assemblies and components to boats.
·Dress beading joints and bolt parts together securely.
·Utilize GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) in various outfitting tasks.
·Follow engineering standards and ensure compliance with ISO standards.
·Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
·Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects.
·Provide input on improving outfitting processes and techniques
Qualifications/Experience
- Previous experience in boat outfitting, particularly with GRP.
- Strong understanding of engineering standards and ISO standards.
- Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve outfitting issues.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively.
- Perform light fabrication tasks, including cutting, shaping, and assembling metal and plastic components
- Prior experience with MoD boats is advantageous but not essential.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous and thorough in completing tasks to ensure high-quality workmanship.
