Working as one of two management accountants in the Finance team, this role will be key in preparing management information to the leadership team. Your key tasks will be focused around the accurate and on time delivery of monthly management accounts and overseeing the accounts assistants to maintain accurate records throughout the month, helping manage credit control, and facilitating a smooth audit.
Objectives
- Preparation of monthly management accounts
- Review of monthly transactions and preparation of journals to ensure all entries are recorded accurately in the correct period
- Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Oversee bank reconciliations
- Oversee sales and purchase ledgers, ensuring entries are accurate, ageing is reasonable and balances remain clearly reconciled, assisting with processing when required and managing credit control
- VAT returns & reconcile VAT turnover reports
- Provide commission reports and similar to agents
- Playing a key role in the audit, including liaising with auditors and helping to prepare audit files
Support the Senior Finance Manager in:
- Providing first draft estimates for new tender opportunities when required
- Partnering with other parts of the business to produce financial models and business cases
- Production of detailed expense analysis and subsidiary models for the annual budget
- Taking part in cross-functional projects to assist with the development of the wider business
- Providing ad hoc analysis as required
- Assist the Payroll Specialist as and when required – including running payroll as cover & reviewing when necessary
Experience
Essential
- AAT Qualified or CIMA/ACA/ACCA in Progress
