- Supervising Stores, this role’s primary responsibilities will be:
- Co-ordinating and setting priorities and day to day tasks for associates within Stores, providing first line management support as required, including items such as monitoring performance, appraisals, Return To Work reviews following sickness, and disciplinary requirements.
- Train and mentor team members, supporting growth and development.
- Ensuring adequate coverage within Stores by managing leave and other commitments to ensure suitable service given to relevant stakeholders.
- Carry out all Stores activities within timely and efficient manner, from receipt of goods, transportation or deliveries around the business, packing and dispatching.
- Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures, updating or amending as necessary.
- Ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, including all requirements necessary for dispatch of material to international destinations.
- Provide accurate and timely feedback to stakeholders regarding supply of goods and services.
- Monitor inventory levels, providing support to ensure current and future needs are met, preventing shortages or overstocking.
- Conduct regular stock audits, investigating and reconciling discrepancies.
- Ensure Stores and Kitting areas remain clean, tidy, and safe and keep compliant with all environmental, and health and safety requirements.
- Maintain detailed reporting and traceability of all items, including goods receipt, stock holding and movements, stock counting, and dispatched items.
Additional to these, working with other internal departments:
- Ensure correct processing of orders or provide support so that invoices can be processed correctly, working with Finance or Procurement to resolve queries.
- Work with other departments to resolve or escalate Quality concerns, including raising and processing Non-Conformity Reports (NCRs), and subsequent resolution.
- Support Continuous Improvement activities.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Project Management to understand material specifications and requirements, and align delivery of material with project schedules.
Support departmental objectives:
- Continual reviews and updates to business policies, procedures, and processes.
- Full records and traceability of all procurement activity, with supporting evidence and approvals.
- Stay updated with market trends, new developments or obsolescence, or significant local or global events that may cause Supply Chain disruption, promoting new methodology, materials or equipment, and identifying and managing risk.
- Working as part of the wider Supply Chain, providing additional support as necessary.
- Identify and obtain cost savings, documenting these to ensure knowledge and best practice is shared within the department, while ensuring that performance or compliance are not compromised.
Qualifications and Experience:
Essential
- Numerate and analytical
- MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc)
- High level organisational skills
- Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships
- Understanding of logistics and import/export requirements
- Forklift licence
- Full, clean, UK Driving licence
- Minimum three years’ experience working in a Stores area
- Knowledge/understanding of customs requirements, and shipping terms (i.e. Incoterms)
Desirable
- Experience in a manufacturing or other engineering environment
- ERP system knowledge and experience
