Support Site Agent/PM/Sub Agent in the safe and timely delivery of a Project (or Section) to ensure that dimensional control and QA processes are undertaken in a timely manner to meet Project Programme.
Principal Accountability
- The Senior Engineer is accountable for, but not limited to, the following within each project(s):
- Provide guidance to Site/Section Engineers where required.
- Ensuring that works activities are carried out effectively, to agreed programme and specification.
- Contribute to managing and measuring on site productivity and general performance of project including the performance of sub-contractors.
- Comply with all BMS/SHEQ systems and in accordance with the Company H&S Roles & Responsibilities.
- Manage & develop team members individual performance, identify strengths and weaknesses in order to contribute to the succession planning.
Detailed Responsibilities
- The Senior Engineer is responsible for, but not limited to, the following for project(s):
- Manage & comply with all BMS/SHEQ and Company H&S Roles & Responsibilities requirements.
- Maintain site diary and records.
- Manage site operations to maximise operational effectiveness and efficiency at all times, understanding project Cost Plan budget constraints and targets.
- Achieve efficiency of operations working to the agreed project programme.
- Manage site engineering function to ensure efficient work operations, managing the Technical Query process as directed by Site Agent/Sub Agent.
- Manage site operations to ensure all works are completed to the highest standard and comply with contract specification and to relevant standards to prevent any remedial action.
- Manage inspection & testing requirements with contract specification and to relevant standards.
- Ensure works are inspected by a Company representative with the client and are approved & signed off prior to completing section of work.
- Contribute to As-Built information.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external customers in relation to all site requirements. i.e., SHE, Programme, Quality.
- Agree weekly programmes with Site Agent and/or produce the weekly programmes to comply with project Contract Programme, regularly provide updates on progress.
- Ensure daily material requirement programme agreed and placed each day with appropriate people to allow daily operations to be planned efficiently.
- Provide PM with information to produce the monthly Cost Plan.
- Undertake material reconciliations on a weekly basis against Cost Plan budget.
