The purpose of the role
To plan and control Sauces & dressings and Blending production activities in order to meet the requirements for internal and external customers. Direct activities so that the staff, plant and materials are used within agreed budgets to produce high quality within the best standards. Responsible & accountable for the effective and efficient operation of the production lines. Our intention is to be the industry leader for the chosen categories, creating an area of operational excellence through continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Planning staff and materials to achieve production targets as per budget. Monitor progress and adjust on a needs basis.
- Plan, develop and maintain operational structure within the Sauces & dressings and Blending areas to ensure correct allocation of duties, the right supervisory role and responsibility.
- Work to high standards to achieve consistent production of high-quality product, prioritizing “First Time Quality”.
- To be responsible and accountable for achieving daily KPI’s, escalating any issues to senior management.
- In conjunction with internal departments, ensure that the systems for cost effective Sauces & dressings and Blending waste controls are in place.
- To ensure the management and control of the KPI measurement systems (Yield/downtime & OEE).
- Ensure we are aligned with internal departments on communication and changes that may affect service levels both internal and external.
- To ensure that company and departmental guidelines are rigorously adhered to at all times by all team members including H & S, Hygiene, GMP and Quality etc.
- In conjunction with warehouse and supply chain ensure that the stock take, and cycle counts are structured and effective.
- The management of his/her team members including recruitment, training & development, PDR’s, absence & grievance disciplinary procedures.
- Work with the GCI team to strive for improvements in the performance of the resources available i.e. plant, equipment and people.
- Manage new product introduction within Sauces & dressings and Blending from an operational perspective.
- Maintain strong relationships with all key interfaces.
- To be the main Sauces & dressings and Blending liaison for customer visits and audits.
- To undertake any other associated duties that may arise.
- Maintain and develop contacts within the industry to ensure that Griffith remains competitive and up to date within your area of responsibility.
Requirements
Essential
- Good educational background with relevant management qualifications.
- Min 3 years’ experience in food manufacture.
- Min 3 years’ experience in people management within production environment.
- Computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft applications.
- Good standard of written and oral communication.
Desirable
- Experience of working in a lean manufacturing environment with understanding of relevant techniques.
- An operational background / level of experience would be highly desirable for this role with a proven track record.
