Purpose of the position
This position is responsible for developing, recommending and implementing cost-effective food manufacturing projects and process improvements within the product requirements, quality standards, and sustainability platform specified by the customer(s) at a local Priority setting.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for carrying out local capital projects, including the development of a project plan and scope, organizing and coordinating schedules, and documenting all aspects of projects.
- Experienced in Industrial Project management: from designing specifications together with Suppliers and internal stakeholders to follow up the installation and deliver the ramp-up.
- Plans and implements assigned engineering projects including defining the project scope, project activities, milestones, contractor requirements as well as plant and customer requirements.
- Leads project planning and control, including scope definition, schedule development, budget management, expenditure forecasting, and progress reporting.
- Manages CAPEX process and outcomes, including budget control and cashflow forecasting at sites level.
- Maintains interface with Business Unit to provide project updates and ensures customer needs are met.
- Coordinates preparation and delivery of project deliverables, design documents, and bid packages.
- Prepares interim and completion project reports.
- Leads full engineering lifecycle including Frontend Engineering Design (FEED), detailed design, FAT/SAT, commissioning, validation (CQV), and Vertical Start-Up (VSU).
- Acts as SME for Project Management, Early Management & VSU; owns the VSU roadmap; mentors/coaches Project Engineers.
- Maintains and annually updates site Master Plans; interfaces with Business Unit & Supply Chain Leadership for capital planning; supports standards/ways of working.
- Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, sustainability, ergonomics, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
- Coordinates the launch of new/revised manufacturing upgrades including establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results.
- Performs research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment, promoting sustainability, and maximizing safety and wellbeing of our employees.
