Purpose of the role
Carries out tasks concerning maintenance, repair, revision and positioning of:
- Electrical & Mechanical Equipment
- Electrical & Mechanical Installations
- Supporting Resources
- Buildings
- Utility Services
Responsibilities
- Mechanical service, repair, replacement of: motors, gearboxes, couplings, seals, pumps, valves, hydraulics, pneumatics, etc.
- Electrical service, repair, replacement of: motors, sensors, valves, control gear, VSDs, servos, instrumentation, power distribution systems, safety systems, etc.
- Take care of the electrical and mechanical settings, documenting them where possible.
- Perform certain measurements, adjustments, tests and calibrations.
- Identify and select suitable parts and spares for the task.
- Evaluate the possibility or the necessity of repairing or replacing components.
- Work with the parts coordinator to obtain and maintain stock levels and accuracy.
- Make suggestions and propositions to improve the installations and to increase plant availability, quality and safety.
- Provide technical support to operators.
- Support the projects department in the implementation of new equipment, plant or services.
- Maintain control measurement equipment and weighing equipment.
- Respect company policy concerning hygiene and safety during activities.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Recognized engineering apprenticeship or HNC/HND in Engineering
- Building Services Experience: Boilers, air handling plant, refrigeration
- Use of a CMMS
- Food sector background
- Packaging machinery
- Complex control systems
Skills & Capabilities
- Accurate root cause analysis of breakdowns and effective corrective action carried out
- Welding: Preferably TIG and Arc
- Read and interpret electrical & mechanical schematics diagrams
- Knowledge of different types of maintenance methodology; PPM, CBM, PM, TBM
