Purpose of the Role

This position is responsible for administration and support of the LAN/WAN, wireless, and cloud environments. Provides direct technical support for all requirements in the planning, coordination, programming, and implementation of releases, upgrades, or changes to network, and the range of products and productivity tools that support the testing and production environments relating to network computing. This position ensures stable performance for all environments through performance monitoring and tuning, and performs capacity planning, workload modeling, prediction, and ensures systems maintenance of all related systems. In addition, the individual will plan and implement major software upgrades to network related systems or equipment, ensuring change management procedures and methodologies are implemented and followed.

Tasks And Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and/or implement all network systems and related software in accordance with corporate policy and direction.
  • Be accountable for the following principal activities: Performance and tuning analysis, Capacity planning, Long-term strategic planning, Problem resolution tracking, Software upgrades to network related systems and planning.
  • Be responsible for software installation of network related systems, product troubleshooting, and technical documentation.
  • Provide technical support to customers, project managers, and product developers.
  • Analyze, design, code, test, debug, maintain, modify, and document network and end user operating systems to meet business requirements.
  • Determine systems specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
  • Recommend purchase of products or services necessary to support the test and production operating environments.
  • Provide business and technical consultation and support to users and other technical units.

Knowledge And Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year university and 2 - 4 years related experience of network and end user computing administration.
  • Palo Alto Firewall: Proficiency in Palo Alto Firewalls – Pan OS and Panorama management.
  • Solid experience deploying and troubleshooting LAN's, WAN's & Wireless networks.
  • Cisco configuration and troubleshooting skills across multiple platforms including: Cisco routers (8300, 4451, 4431, 29XX), Cisco IOS switches (9000, 3850, 2960), Cisco wireless solutions.
  • Experience with BGP and OSPF routing protocols would be a plus.
  • Ability to create VLANs, ACLs, VRFs, Trunks, and Tunnels.
  • Ability to plan, develop, and coordinate multiple projects.
  • IOS software: Proficiency in switch/router setup, IP design and functionality, cabling infrastructure, network protocol analyzing, network traffic troubleshooting, Cisco IOS and IOS related devices.
  • Experience and knowledge in network protocols, OSI model for network communication, Windows server network layers, TCP/IP and ISO fundamentals, and wireless communications.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Cisco certifications preferred: CCNA or comparable experience.
  • Additional desired skills: Microsoft Azure cloud platform, Cisco ISE.
