Duties and responsibilities
- Work collaboratively & cross functionally within the Marketlink Global Network.
- Liaise and collaborate with MarketLink sourcing countries to maintain and manage the raw material ingredient libraries held at Griffith Foods, Somercotes.
- Create, formulate, and provide process parameters for new products aligned with customer, legislative, and food safety requirements within the scope of Griffith strategic areas and in conjunction with the Sales & Marketing departments.
- Utilise raw material libraries held for all Marketlink sourcing countries.
- Ensure effective operation of Griffith computer systems including timely entry of formula data into GL Apps to ensure effective commercialisation of new products; utilisation of the CRM system; sample management systems.
- Maintain the basic business through formula optimization (price, quality), and/or range extensions, evaluation of new / alternative raw materials in product applications and reducing company complexity.
- Participate and engage fully in production trials of new products both internally and at customer locations; provide technical support in resolving on-going issues. A degree of travel and flexibility is required.
- Develop close working relationships with selected / assigned customers through regular direct contact thereby ensuring that the business understands the customer’s requirements (ingredient, product, and legislative restrictions), their operational processes and their technical requirements.
- Write and conduct presentations, workshops and trainings to the customer showing our products in application & a marketable format.
- Communicate and prepare technical reports (internal & external). Maintain accurate technical development records, both computer and paper based.
- Work to tight deadlines set by our customer & ensure that briefs are effectively met within stated timescales.
- Proactively and visibly support the Health and Safety standards, rules and regulations of the organisation.
Knowledge and experience
- Minimum 2 years' appropriate postgraduate development experience.
- Technical expertise.
- Relevant industry experience.
- Ability to work in a team setting and able to work autonomously.
- Strong computing skills especially with the Microsoft Office package.
- Excellent communicator with written and spoken English.
- Ability to manage own time and workload to achieve deadlines.
Compensation
The starting base salary for this position is £24,784.50 fix gross per year.
