The purpose of the role
To plan and control Batching production activities to meet the requirements for internal and external customers. Direct activities so that the staff, plant, and materials are used within agreed budgets to produce the highest quality within the best standards. Responsible & accountable for the effective and efficient operation of the production lines. Our intention is to be the industry leader for the chosen categories, creating an area of operational excellence through continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Planning staff and materials to achieve production targets as per budget. Monitor progress and adjust on a need’s basis.
- Plan, develop and maintain operational structure within the Batching areas to ensure correct allocation of duties, the right supervisory role and responsibility.
- Work to the highest standards to achieve consistent production of high-quality product, prioritising “First Time Quality”.
- To be responsible and accountable for achieving daily KPI’s, escalating any issues to senior management.
- In conjunction with internal departments, ensure that the systems for cost effective Batching waste controls are in place.
- To ensure the management and control of the KPI measurement systems (Yield / Downtime & OEE).
- Ensure we are aligned with internal departments on communication and changes that may affect service levels both internal and external.
- To ensure that company and departmental guidelines are rigorously always adhered to by all team members including H&S, Hygiene, GMP and Quality & all other key stakeholders.
- In conjunction with warehouse and supply chain ensure that the stock take, and cycle counts are structured and effective.
- Deliver company training plans and initiatives as and when required.
- Deliver lean initiatives in line with Site / Company strategy.
Requirements
Essential:
- Good educational background with relevant management qualifications.
- Min 3 years’ experience in food manufacture.
- Min 3 years’ experience in people management within production environment.
- Computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft applications.
- Good standard of written and oral communication.
Desirable:
- Experience of working in a lean manufacturing environment with understanding of relevant techniques.
- An operational background / level of experience would be highly desirable for this role with a proven track record.
Compensation
The starting base salary for this position is £31,922.04 plus shift allowance of £4984.68 fix gross per year.
