Purpose of the position

This position is responsible for developing, recommending and implementing cost-effective food manufacturing projects and process improvements within the product requirements, quality standards, and sustainability platform specified by the customer(s) at a local Priority setting. Responsible for carrying out local capital projects. This involves the development of a project plan and scope, organizing and coordinating schedules, and documenting all aspects of projects such as directing outside contractors, FAT / SAT Protocols, cost control, project integration into the plant operation, and training coordination.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • He / She is well experienced in Industrial Project management: starting from designing specifications together with Suppliers and internal stakeholders down to follow up the installation and deliver the ramp-up.
  • Plans and implements assigned engineering projects including defining the project scope, project activities, milestones, contractor requirements as well as plant and customer requirements.
  • Leads project planning and control, including scope definition, schedule development, budget management, expenditure forecasting, and progress reporting.
  • Manages CAPEX process and outcomes, including budget control and cashflow forecasting at sites level.
  • Maintains interface with Business Unit to provide project updates and ensures customer needs are met.
  • Coordinates preparation and delivery of project deliverables, design documents, and bid packages.
  • Prepares interim and completion project reports.
  • Leads full engineering lifecycle including Frontend Engineering Design (FEED), detailed design, FAT/SAT, commissioning, validation (CQV), and Vertical Start-Up (VSU), ensuring smooth transition through all project phases.
  • Acts as SME for Project Management, Early Management & VSU; owns the VSU roadmap; mentors/coaches Project Engineers.
  • Maintains and annually updates site Master Plans; interfaces with Business Unit & Supply Chain Leadership for capital planning; supports standards/ways of working.
  • Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, sustainability, ergonomics, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
  • Coordinates the launch of new / revised manufacturing upgrades including establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results.
  • Performs research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment, promoting sustainability, and maximizing safety and wellbeing of our employees.
