ROLE SUMMARY
This position is ideal for someone early in their career who is passionate about kids and families and an advocate of the role that authentic, of-the-moment insight can play to grow a successful business.
Possessing qualitative, project and stakeholder management skills, the postholder is ideally looking to make a real business impact with insight. They are motivated by the unique opportunity to play an integral role in growing Beano Brain.
They are driven by the opportunity to work with kids and families in the UK, US and Europe to bring subsequent insight and their experience to bear in supporting the growth objectives of Beano Studios and Beano Brain.
ROLE PURPOSE
This role will support the senior Beano Brain insight team in delivering high-quality, thought-provoking and business-transforming insight work for clients across research design, project set up, fieldwork, analysis and reporting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Project and Fieldwork Management
You will project manage and co-ordinate client insight projects, working closely with the Associate Field Director and project lead including:
- Cost collation, helping prepare research proposals, project set up, local partner/supplier management
- Preparing recruitment briefs and reviewing screeners
- Overseeing recruitment progression
Qualitative Research Projects for External Clients
You will also:
- Take part in client meetings and be part of the briefing and proposal process
- Feed into the design of insight projects, with guidance from line manager/project leads (including drafting discrete parts of client proposals)
- Support in the preparation, management and carrying out of quality ad hoc research, from initiation to completion such as drafting pre-tasks and discussion guides for qualitative research methods (including interviews, mini groups, etc.)
- Be involved in managing and running online qualitative approaches for clients (e.g. on Indeemo platform), including drafting and uploading online community guides
- Proficiently use digital interviewing platforms (e.g. Zoom)
- Moderate fieldwork with kids, teens, parents and other relevant audiences, including individual in-depth interviews and taking increasing responsibility across mini groups and co-creation sessions
- Help to draft insightful, persuasive and action-inspiring presentations, working closely with the senior project team
- Provide support in analysis and writing debriefs, both single & multi market, creating compelling presentations that drive action
- Help present discrete parts of insight presentations to Beano Brain clients with support from the senior team
KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Articulate and possessing excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Educated to degree level or appropriate transferrable experience and skills
- Interest in and curiosity for youth culture/trends/associated brand world
- Project management experience/able to work with Field to ensure projects and recruitment run smoothly
- Sound understanding of qualitative research methods and techniques
- Some experience interviewing kids, teens and families moderating 1:1 sessions and online communities
- Experience observing/note taking across a variety of session types
- An interest in kids, teens and families in the UK, US and Europe
- Excellent analysis and critical thinking skills
- Excellent lateral thinking skills, in particular an ability to look beyond the obvious
- Ability to write first draft of discussion guide/pre-tasks/community guides with clear briefing from seniors
- Excellent report writing and presentation ability including a high-level of competency in MS Word and PowerPoint
- Ideally, has experience of working on integrated qualitative and quantitative insight projects
- Strong attention to detail
- Experience working with kids, able to build quick rapport
- Expertise in specific area of youth culture and/or families
- Experience working on mixed quant/qual projects
- Experience in, or interest and curiosity of, using AI to conduct research analysis
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Reports to: Research Manager, Beano Brain
Other key colleagues: Senior Insight Executive, Insight Director (Qual), Associate Field Director, Insight Director (Global Insights), MD (Commercial Insight)
Working arrangements: Hybrid, very flexible working from home options; candidates should ideally be happy to commute to C. London for the 2 days a week in office/at client meetings/fieldwork. Applicants should also be available for fieldwork anywhere in the UK and excited about potential fieldwork in the US (remote and in person).

This is a full-time, permanent position, working 35 hours per week. This is a hybrid role offering a blend of home and office working from our London, Fleet Street Office.
