We are looking for a Commissioning Engineer to be responsible for the commissioning of Residential and Commercial Smoke Venting and Fire Alarm Systems.
This would include the commissioning and certification of each project. Training as required would be provided.
OVERVIEW
You will be required to visit client premises mainly in the London area, with the possibility of nationwide travel and overnight stays. The role requires the commissioning of fire alarm systems and smoke venting systems on a planned installation and emergency call-out basis in line with contracted expectations, so you need to be aware of customer needs. In order to successfully carry out this role you will require an understanding of fan motors, inverters and detection systems and will be able to work to tight deadlines in accordance with project requirements and the ability to safely perform lone working.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Commissioning of Fire Alarm and AOV systems
- Inclusion on out of hours call out rota (Currently one week in 8)
- Administer accurate cause and effects
- Programming of life safety systems
- Ability to work from drawings and mark-ups
- Liaise with Design, Project Management and Maintenance departments
- Ongoing job role administration inclusive of timesheets, vehicle checklists, expense forms etc.
- Completion and sign-off of project certification
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Previous experience in a Fire Alarm commissioning background to BS5839 standards
- Knowledge and experience of working with Kentec products is desirable
- Computer literate
- Previous experience of working on site
- Ability to work with multiple discipline projects

- Decision making ability
- Time management and organization skills
- Driving License
