The Director – PR & MarComms is a strategic leader responsible for driving business growth, leading high-impact PR and communication strategies, and managing new business opportunities. This role requires expertise in handling RFPs, industry trends, award submissions, and client relationship management, particularly in hospitality, travel, and tourism sectors. The ideal candidate will have strong industry connections and a proven track record in expanding agency business.

What will be your responsibilities?

  • Business Development & Growth
  • Lead and manage RFP processes, acting as the key strategist and penholder, allocating tasks to relevant teams and ensuring high-quality submissions and overall accountability of submissions.
  • Proactively identify new business opportunities, track industry trends, and apply for relevant RFPs to drive agency expansion.
  • Strengthen and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across hospitality, travel, and tourism boards, leveraging networks for business growth and working hand-in-hand with the GEN PLUS Growth team.
  • Develop and execute innovative PR and MarComms strategies that align with each client’s objectives and enhance impact.
  • Oversee and prepare strategies for award submissions, ensuring the agency's work is effectively represented in industry recognitions and accolades.
  • Manage the planning, execution, and delivery of multi-channel PR, marketing, and corporate communication initiatives across the business.
  • For each RFP/new brief where PR/Marcomms is required, define project scope, resources, budgets, and KPIs to ensure seamless execution and high-quality deliverables.
  • Identify emerging industry trends and integrate them into PR and communication strategies to stay ahead of the market.
  • Lead vendor, media, and partnership engagements to maximize campaign effectiveness and business impact.
  • Work closely as an integrated member of the business with other agency units, especially on RFPs and briefs where multi-agency input and SOW is required.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Team Leadership
    • Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring seamless collaboration and high-impact PR execution.
    • Guide and mentor teams, ensuring skill development and a high-performance culture.
    • Act as a key representative for the agency in industry events, networking forums, and conferences, driving visibility and business opportunities.
    • Ensure clear, data-driven decision-making at all levels by providing ongoing performance insights and recommendations.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field.
    • 10+ years of experience in PR, communications, or marketing, with a strong focus on business development.
    • Expertise in RFP management, award submissions, and strategic communication planning.
    • Well-connected within hospitality, travel, and tourism sectors, with a strong industry reputation.
    • Strong proficiency in PR tools, digital platforms, media analytics, and project management.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience in crafting compelling proposals and award entries.
