The team Our Operational Resilience team sits at the intersection of risk, technology, and operations, making sure Griffin can protect its customers no matter what. We work closely with teams across the business, from deep technical specialists to senior leadership, helping Griffin understand its resilience posture and continuously strengthen it. We’re not here to tick compliance boxes. We want to build a resilience programme we’re genuinely proud of.

The opportunity We’re building out our business resilience capabilities and this role sits right at the heart of that. Reporting to Rebecca, our Operational Resilience Manager, you’ll own our supplier management framework, lead scenario testing, and help stand up our first‑line controls assurance programme. You’ll work across the whole of Griffin, partnering with operations, technology, and senior leadership, and your work will directly shape how resilient we are as a bank. This is a broad, high‑impact role for someone who wants to help define what excellence looks like, not just maintain what already exists.

What success looks like In your first 6 months, you’ll have built meaningful relationships across Griffin - especially within our engineering and operations teams - and become a trusted voice on resilience across the business. Our material supplier mapping will be much deeper to help us better understand downstream dependencies. By 12 months, you’ll be the go‑to person for supplier management. You will have helped to design and run at least one major scenario test as part of our integrated resilience test plan and you’ll have played a central role in getting our first‑line controls assurance programme off the ground.

To Do This You’ll Own:

  • Our supplier management framework, deepening supply chain mapping, monitoring supplier performance, and strengthening our resilience by understanding our most critical third‑party relationships.
  • Supplier failure scenario tests, designing, coordinating and helping to run exercises across the business that allow us to answer the question “how resilient are we?”.
  • Supporting development of our first‑line controls assurance programme (line 1.5), helping to build the infrastructure that keeps our risk and control environment robust.
  • Embedding our resilience culture across Griffin, working in close partnership with operations and technology teams to make resilience a shared responsibility.
  • Keeping pace with our regulatory environment, ensuring our programme remains aligned with PRA/FCA requirements on operational resilience and supplier management.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of our operational resilience programme as Griffin grows and the regulatory landscape evolves.

We expect you to shape this role. This description reflects what we need today. How you achieve these outcomes, where you focus your energy, how this role evolves - that’s for you to define as you learn what our customers need and where our technical gaps are.

Your background To ensure this, we’re looking for people who have:

  • Experience working in a regulated financial services environment, with a strong understanding of how banks and financial institutions operate.
  • Familiarity with PRA/FCA regulations on operational resilience and third‑party/supplier management.
  • Hands‑on experience with supplier or third‑party management, particularly where those suppliers contribute to delivering important business services.
  • Comfort working alongside technology teams. You don’t need to be an engineer, but you should be able to speak their language and collaborate effectively.
  • A love of writing - we have a major amount of written documentation that you will be contributing to, and we place a high degree of importance on clarity and readability.

Ideally, you would also:

  • Experience developing or exercising business continuity plans.
  • Knowledge of EU DORA and its implications for financial services firms.
  • Line 1.5 or first‑line assurance experience.

What can we offer you?

  • Remote‑first flexibility: Work from anywhere in the UK.
  • Work from abroad: Up to 20 days a year.
  • Time off: 25 days’ holiday, bank holidays and a winter break (we shut down between Christmas and New Year).
  • Share options: Own a part of what we’re building together.
  • Pension: Auto‑enrolment into our Penfold scheme.
  • Insurance: Private medical with Bupa (including family cover) and life insurance with AIG.
  • Wellbeing: 1:1 coaching and therapy session available through Oliva.
  • Family leave: Enhanced parental leave with up to 6 months on full pay after two years’ service.
  • AI tools: Everyone has a Claude subscription on us and access to other premium tools.
  • Your setup: We’ll support you in creating a comfortable and effective WFH environment.

As a bank, we’re committed to maintaining the highest standards of security. This means that the successful candidate will need to complete background screening, and our offer will be conditional upon satisfactory review of these checks. This would include verification of right to work, criminal record, credit history, social media and professional reference checks.

Under representation Our goal is for Griffin to proportionally represent the diversity of the working population in society. We’re working to ensure that Griffin is a supportive, empowering and inclusive environment for every member of our team — whatever your combination of race, ethnicity, gender, age, sexual orientation, physical ability, nationality, neurodiversity, and religious beliefs. If you’re part of a group that is under‑represented in fintech, we’d love to hear from you.
