The Assistant General Manager (AGM) is responsible for supporting the General Manager (GM) with the onsite day-to-day operations of the Electric Forecourt including leading the retail team, managing retail partner operations, delivering an exceptional customer experience and ensuring the highest standards of health, safety and quality.

The Electric Forecourt is one of the most technically advanced electric vehicle charging stations, powered by 100% renewable energy with a retail facility featuring a high-quality lounge for customers to use while their vehicles are charging. This also acts as an educational area, providing information about electric vehicles, solar energy generation and ecology.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the GM in exceeding all financial and non-financial KPIs.
  • Deputise for the GM, as required.
  • Deliver a “best in class” customer experience, coaching the team to ensure awesome brand standards and customer service levels are achieved.
  • Ensure all staff members are aware of all current promotions and products.
  • Promote a ‘safety-first’ culture amongst the team, fostering a safe environment for employees, visitors and customers.
  • Support in attracting, developing and maintaining a high performing team, including recruitment & selection, onboarding, training and development and performance management.
  • Assist the GM on all the ‘onsite and day to day’ business operations, working in collaboration to deliver exceptional standards, operational efficiency and sales optimisation.
  • Adhere and apply all licensing laws.
  • Assist in managing compliance of the forecourt across all areas, ensuring that all checks and audits are completed.
  • Support in maintaining the forecourt to high brand standards, monitoring and managing maintenance issues and all contractors on site.
  • Drive commercial opportunities through daily analysis of key metrics and coaching the team.
  • Support in managing all controllable costs through effective management of stock, labour, reward & recognition and shrink.
  • Ensure all aspects of the staff deployment are executed effectively.
  • Support the GM with team meetings and information cascading.
  • Maintain a customer centric environment which helps demystify the barriers of Electric Vehicles and provides a space where customers can learn and reflect on the benefits of Electric Vehicles.
  • Work a range of early/late shifts, weekends and bank holidays in line with the Forecourts operating hours.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes including anti-bribery, environmental and quality management systems in compliance with ISO standards.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Required Experience: ~3+ years of Retail or hospitality experience as a Team Leader/Supervisor or Assistant Manager.

  • Good level of business acumen including commercial and financial skills.

Required Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Qualification within customer experience & Retail are desirable.
  • Full UK driving licence held for minimum 1 year.
