Who we’re looking for

We are looking for a highly analytical product manager with significant energy industry experience to join our product team supporting our core modeling engine. Your work will cover the following areas:

  • You will be the primary technical interface between the business and the modeling team, understanding and interpreting often complex energy market concepts into well defined modeling requirements.
  • Working with the sales and industry teams to turn market dynamics, regulation changes and customer needs into product opportunities.
  • Defining clear problem statements, success metrics and modeling requirements.
  • Testing and validation of new modeling features.
  • Reviewing outcomes including model accuracy, customer value, and commercial impact.
  • Writing and maintaining internal technical documentation.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • 4 to 6 years in product or an adjacent role (e.g. BA, analytics, data science, or delivery), with exposure to quantitative or modeling‑heavy products.
  • Extensive knowledge in at least one major energy market.
  • A technical background, and be comfortable understanding python, pull requests and automated tests.
  • Strong analytical skills with a high attention to units, assumptions, edge cases, and accuracy.
  • Ability to bridge technical (data science/engineering) and commercial perspectives.
  • Clear communication skills and be able to simplify complex modeling concepts into crisp writing and visuals.
  • Structured prioritisation and stakeholder management across technical and non‑technical teams.
  • Flexibility in working hours to ensure overlap with the existing modeling team based in Melbourne, Australia.

Benefits

  • Competitive remuneration package aligned with experience and skills.
  • Join a diverse start‑up in the energy space and be part of a high‑performing team that values innovation and creative problem‑solving.
  • We will help build your personal profile in the energy sector via sharing your insights and contributions on our company LinkedIn page.

  • Support for ongoing professional and personal development.
