Role
- You’ll be part of the pioneering team building GridBeyond’s Public Sector presence and lead the sale and delivery of Solutions into this sector, including EV/Storage/Solar/heatpump & Microgrid presence across the UK & Ireland
- You will have a ‘hunter’ mentality to bring on new business and generate leads, primarily in the Public Sector with significant experience selling solutions into Councils, Social housing, University’s, Hospitals and trusts, & Higher Education.
- Also will need to cultivate and advance relationships with key partners in these sectors such as wholesalers and social housing providers.
- Cultivate strong relationships with key decision makers and manage relationships with senior stakeholders using recognizable engagement mapping techniques such as Miller Heiman or equivalent.
- Evaluate opportunities to increase customer satisfaction, sales, retention within your book of business and build qualitative strategic account plans to clearly present a path to success.
- Supporting and progressing the development of market solutions in collaboration with key internal stakeholders
- Building and developing strategic analysis of the target market and sectors and delivering propositions based on this analysis.
- Develop and lead key strategic meetings and webinars, events and seminars relating to the public sector, social housing and renewable technologies.
- Ensure CRM system is fully updated and all information pertaining to sales leads and activity is entered at least weekly.
- Run through territory planning calls and weekly sales reviews from CRM database highlighting risks and opportunities from activity entered into the CRM system.
- Ensure that all monthly sales review material is in place for the Leadership team to evaluate at monthly sales review.
- Identifying opportunities to create additional cross-offerings and synergies based on client /industry demand.
- Identifying funding opportunities and completing the documentation to acquire it.
- Organise projects & tenders, monitor progress and assess & manage the risks/opportunities.
What are we looking for
- A successful sales track record working with large blue-chip customers. Preferably in the Public Sector solutions sector/ Solar & battery storage sales/ Renewable energy and asset sales to public Sector bodies/Wholesalers/Social Housing providers, but we are more than willing to consider promising candidates from similar industries with the right skillset.
- A history of exceeding margin targets.
- Demonstrable success in developing new business sales.
- Demonstrable experience of building and maintaining effective working relationships and partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to understand customers’ needs and requirements and translate these into profitable solutions.
- Ability to monitor and analyse market developments
- Great communication skills with the ability to thrive in international working relationships.
- Self-driven and highly motivated with a deal-hunting attitude.
- You’ll be working fairly autonomously in a ‘start-up’ type environment so you should be comfortable with being a self-starter and upwardly managing.
- Strong negotiation skills and be commercially astute.
- Ability to drive, encourage & lead both direct and indirect teams to deliver the products and services your profit pillar requires to meet both the company and your personal targets and objectives.
What you will have
- A strong sales/business development background with an ability to apply business development techniques to develop and shape long-term opportunities to point of sale
- Use of CRM and database management
- Confident use and demonstration of spread sheet interrogation and production of high-quality data sets and slide decks.
- Ability to manage and forecast sales cycles
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills – able to confidently present sophisticated/technical concepts/outcomes to a wide variety of stakeholders including engineers, managers and directors.
- Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent, master’s degree preferable though not essential.
- Ability to influence and negotiate with both internal and external stakeholders
- High levels of integrity and self-reliance, demonstrating knowledge of industry best practices
- Strategic thinker, with operational delivery capability
- First rate customer management skills, coupled with strong listening and communications skills
- Professional values – articulate, honest, innovative, highly motivated and enthusiastic about renewable energy and new technology
- Team player, able to work both individually and on team projects
- Commercially aware with well-honed interpersonal skills
