Health and Safety Officer: Grid Team Services is a rapidly growing Irish Design/Build Contractor in the Electricity Utility Sector. We have an immediate vacancy for a Professionally qualified Health and Safety officer with minimum 5 years experience preferably in the Utility Construction Sector. Based in mid-Ulster with the main, but nonexclusive, activity concentrated on a new 5-year Principal Framework contract. Reporting to the Managing Director, among the main duties will be: Lead the GTS Site Safety Culture in cooperation with Senior Executives Oversee Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines (including RAMS management) Full liaison with Client Safety functions. Assist in preparation and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety including Audit programmes Execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention Monitor all training records and targets Monitor compliance to policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle workers compensation claims Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures Report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics An attractive package is available based on a competitive Salary, a Transport allowance or Company transport, and Pension Contributions.
