Social media marketing strategist

Do you love to promote businesses using social media? Is a paid ads marketing strategy what gets you out of bed in the morning? Do you know a lot about hair and beauty? If yes, then we could have the perfect job for you.

Before we get into the specifics, let me tell you a bit about what we do and who we work with.

Grid Studios is a production company and photography studio based in Old Street, London. The production side has been running for nearly seven years and is best known for creating social content for well-known brands such as Wella and Lucozade. While we still create content across various sectors, we specialise in hair and beauty, with professional haircare being where we have made a real name for ourselves. We love making hair content so much that we have actually built a studio specifically designed to capture this content perfectly. Our studio has been open for around six months and is industry-first with regard to how it is set up. We have six styling stations, a backwash you can get cameras around and over 1000sqft of shoot space. Everything is lit by our custom-designed lighting system, which is perfectly colour-balanced no matter where you are in the space.

Our mission is to make high-end content creation accessible to everyone. This is reflected in our pricing structure and how our space is set up. It is as much for individual stylists as it is for the brands we work with. We just want to make great content. Over the past six months, we have built an amazing community of brands and hairdressers, which is growing every day, and we are expanding and adapting our offering to make sure everyone gets something great out of it.

As we grow, the need for strategy, planning and learning grows with it. We are looking for someone to come in and manage digital marketing and social media strategy to help grow the business, win new clients and build a fantastic place for our community.

Your objectives

  • Develop our digital marketing strategy to win new clients
  • Grow our social channels to build our hairdressing community.
  • Develop cross-platform strategies to increase our audience size and engage new people.
  • Develop and plan content strategies.
  • Execute paid advertising campaigns.
  • Assist in other areas of marketing, including emails, influencers and ambassadors.
  • Build out our social offering so we can offer it as a service.
  • Analyse data to measure success.

Your responsibilities

The role will grow and develop as you do. We want you to enjoy your work and find it rewarding. Below is a list of responsibilities that will be expected at the start.

  • Strategy and creative: You will work alongside our team to build our digital and social strategies and the creative ideas that bring the strategy to life. You will write briefs for the creative teams to ensure everyone works into a structure and plan how we can use our community and audience to promote both us and them.
  • We capture a lot of content both during our content days and on our shoots. You will plan how we can leverage this to promote our services and win new clients. This will include ideas of what we should capture, how it should be used and how we will roll it out.
  • Posting for paid and organic social media management: Once the content is created, you will be responsible for managing and posting it. This will include creating a posting schedule, copywriting, and keeping up with the latest trends. We post across Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
  • Community management: You will look after our amazing community and help plan our content days.
  • Research and development: You will come to us with ideas of what we should be creating. You will research trends, research our competitors, and take on feedback from our community to make sure the content we create is what people really want to see.

SEO and website marketing knowledge

YouTube channel: We like the idea of creating a YouTube channel, so we are exploring options and what content we should create.

PR and product: We have a great audience and want to explore if and how we can create/sell products in the studio.

Content capture: Photography, videography and editing. There will be plenty of opportunities for this.

Your expertise

5+ years working in digital and social media and proven ability to execute social media campaigns to win new work.

3+ years working with paid ads.

Project management and social strategy: Proven ability to create and execute a strategy based on a client\’s brief.

Trends: A great eye for new trends, both visually and socially.

Compensation and information

3-month pro-rata FTC with a view to extend to full-time.

£37 – £40k per year, depending on experience.

30 days annual leave

Gym membership

Hybrid working – minimum 3 days in the office over the week.
