We're looking for talented Front End Engineers to join our London embedded engineering team.

You'll be working with a Tier 1 investment bank, helping modernise a suite of electronic trading applications by replacing legacy Angular and desktop technologies with high-performance React applications used by traders around the world.

This is an opportunity to work on technically demanding software where milliseconds matter.

You'll build responsive, low-latency trading interfaces, consume live market data, optimise browser performance for high-volume streaming applications and help shape the next generation of front-office trading technology.

The Role

As a Front End Engineer, you'll build mission-critical trading applications that process and visualise real-time market data for front-office users.

Working as part of a collaborative engineering team, you'll help deliver modern React applications while contributing to shared engineering standards, reusable UI components and platform tooling.

The work combines modern front-end engineering with distributed systems, messaging technologies and performance optimisation, making it ideal for engineers who enjoy solving complex technical challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain high-performance React and Type Script applications.
  • Build responsive user interfaces supporting pricing, execution and post-trade workflows.
  • Consume and process real-time market data using Web Sockets, RSocket and messaging technologies.
  • Optimise browser rendering, memory usage and application performance for large streaming datasets.
  • Develop reusable UI components and shared application frameworks.
  • Migrate legacy Angular and Angular JS applications onto modern React architecture.
  • Collaborate closely with backend Java engineers to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Build automated UI testing using Playwright, Cypress or similar frameworks.
  • Contribute to architecture, code reviews and engineering best practices.
  • Deploy applications through modern CI/CD pipelines into containerised production environments.
