We are hiring a Data Governance Lead to join our team at Grid Dynamics. Working at the intersection of modern technology and environmental impact, you will design and operationalize the governance framework - covering lineage, stewardship, quality, and access control - for a major UK sustainability initiative driving real-world change across massive corporate supply chains.
Responsibilities
- Own the data governance perspective in for this large data engagement — assesses current governance maturity and shapes governance requirements as part of the proposed solution.
- Translate regulatory, compliance, and policy requirements into concrete architecture and delivery decisions.
- Build and maintain reusable data governance frameworks, maturity models, and assessment playbooks that GD can apply across engagements.
- Act as a trusted advisor to client-side stakeholders bridging their policy concerns and the engineering team's implementation choices.
- Support delivery teams in operationalizing governance: data stewardship models, data quality processes, lineage and cataloging, and access control policies.
- Track the evolving regulatory and AI-governance landscape and translates implications into practical guidance for pursuits and delivery.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data governance or data management, with hands-on experience designing and operationalizing governance functions (policy, stewardship, data quality, lineage, access control) for large enterprises.
- Demonstrated ability to translate regulatory and compliance requirements into technical architecture and engineering practice.
- Direct experience engaging senior client stakeholders in presales, discovery, or advisory contexts.
- Working fluency with modern data platforms and governance tooling (e.g., Purview, Collibra, Alation).
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present governance assessments and roadmaps to both technical and non-technical audiences.

- Prior hands-on technical experience as a data engineer, data architect, or similar.
