We are seeking a highly driven and strategic individual to lead and transform a large-scale, multi-site maintenance operation within a fast-growing organisation delivering accommodation and support services across the UK. The business manages a substantial and diverse residential portfolio, providing housing solutions across dispersed properties and large-scale sites, often under complex, high-profile public sector contracts.
This role has strong executive backing and is central to both immediate performance improvement and long-term growth. Reporting into senior leadership, you will take ownership of a c.200-strong maintenance workforce delivering services across over 5,000 properties, including large accommodation sites. Services span plumbing, electrical, decorating, cleaning, locksmithing, general repairs, and more, supported by a 24/7 helpdesk.
This is a significant leadership role with a mandate to rebuild capability, embed accountability, and raise technical standards. You will assess current performance, restructure where required, and implement a disciplined, data-led approach to service delivery. A key focus will be improving metrics such as average time-to-fix, while driving efficiency, consistency, and cost control.
You will review and optimise the operating model—defining the right balance between in-house delivery and specialist subcontractors, particularly for urgent and complex works. Vendor management and supply chain development will be critical. With oversight of key operational leaders, the role is expected to expand to include fleet and warehouse functions. You will also support mobilisation of new contracts across evolving service lines.
The ideal candidate will bring senior maintenance leadership experience from housing, healthcare, custodial, or outsourced environments, with the energy, commercial acumen, and data-driven mindset to deliver meaningful transformation.
