We are working with an SME B2B business which is currently going through a significant period of change. As a result, they are looking to appoint an Interim Finance Director at short notice to provide senior financial leadership and help shape the next phase of the business.
This is a highly commercial Finance Director role, acting as the senior finance business partner to the SLT. You will play a key role in shaping financial strategy, supporting the growth agenda and wider investment priorities, while also driving greater accountability and performance across the business.
A major focus will be moving finance beyond traditional reporting into a genuine value-add function, providing insight, challenge and commercial support that helps the business make better decisions and deliver its strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the senior finance business partner to the SLT, providing insight, challenge and commercial leadership.
- Support the development and execution of the financial strategy, growth agenda and wider investment priorities.
- Lead the financial evaluation of new opportunities, including expansion plans, bids and tenders, with potential for client-facing involvement.
- Partner closely with commercial and operational leaders to improve contract performance and deliver stronger business outcomes.
- Lead the annual budget, rolling forecast and three-year planning processes.
- Provide clear, insightful commentary on business and entity performance,
- Hold senior leaders to account for financial performance, bringing stakeholders together to drive improvement.
- Take overall responsibility for the quality, accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
- Oversee management accounts, P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, capex reporting, reconciliations, controls and reporting timetables.
