We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Nursery Deputy Manager to join our dedicated team. The Deputy Manager will support the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the setting, ensuring the highest standards of care, education, and safeguarding are maintained. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated childcare professional looking to step up in their career and play a key role in the leadership and development of the nursery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Nursery Manager in the overall management and leadership of the nursery.
  • Support staff with planning and delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
  • Ensure a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children at all times.
  • Supervise, mentor, and motivate nursery practitioners to achieve their full potential.
  • Maintain accurate records in line with Ofsted, safeguarding, and health & safety requirements.
  • Work closely with parents/carers, building strong relationships and supporting children’s individual needs.
  • Lead the nursery in the absence of the Manager.
  • Contribute to staff recruitment, inductions, appraisals, and ongoing training.

Requirements

  • Minimum Level 3 in Childcare and Education (Level 5 desirable).
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or deputy role within a nursery setting.
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding, and Ofsted standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • A passion for providing outstanding early years education and care.
  • Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the nursery.
