Key Responsibilities
- Accurately assign ICD-10 and OPCS-4 codes in accordance with national standards and guidance.
- Maintain high levels of coding accuracy, quality and productivity.
- Ensure compliance with national Clinical Coding standards and conventions.
- Support coding quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with clinicians and operational stakeholders.
- Contribute to service development and coding quality improvement projects.
Clinical Coding Auditor Responsibilities
- Undertake structured Clinical Coding audits.
- Review coded data for accuracy, completeness and compliance.
- Produce audit reports and provide constructive feedback to coding teams.
- Identify trends, learning opportunities and areas for quality improvement.
Clinical Coding Trainer Responsibilities
- Deliver Clinical Coding training and development programmes.
- Support the professional development of coding staff.
- Provide coaching, mentoring and educational support.
- Assist in the creation and delivery of training materials and learning resources.
Essential Requirements
- National Clinical Coding Qualification (ACC).
- Previous Clinical Coding experience within the NHS or independent healthcare sector.
- Excellent knowledge of ICD-10 and OPCS-4 classifications.
- Strong understanding of national Clinical Coding standards and guidance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively within a fully remote environment.
