Greys Specialist Recruitment are working on behalf of a growing business within the vehicle recovery and fleet services sector, who are looking to appoint a commercially driven Business Development Executive. This is a genuine 360 sales role, suited to someone who enjoys winning new business, building relationships and growing accounts over the long term. You will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, engaging with B2B clients, onboarding new customers, managing existing relationships and driving cross-sell and upsell opportunities across the customer base. The company works with businesses that operate vehicle fleets, including HGVs, vans and commercial vehicles, providing essential support services that help keep their operations moving. This is a strong opportunity for someone who wants ownership, autonomy and progression. The Role

As Business Development Executive, you will be responsible for the full sales cycle, from initial lead generation through to client onboarding and ongoing account growth. You will have access to an established CRM containing around 3,000 existing and historic contacts, giving you a strong starting point for re-engaging previous customers, identifying warm opportunities and building a consistent pipeline. Day to day, you will be:

  • Identifying and targeting B2B companies with vehicle fleets
  • Generating new business through outbound calls, email, LinkedIn and proactive prospecting
  • Re-engaging existing and historic customers within the CRM
  • Understanding customer requirements and providing consultative solutions
  • Creating tailored proposals and presenting service options
  • Negotiating and closing new business opportunities
  • Managing client onboarding and ensuring a smooth customer experience
  • Developing long-term account relationships
  • Identifying cross-sell and upsell opportunities
  • Maintaining accurate CRM records and pipeline activity
  • Working closely with the wider team to support business growth

The Person

We are looking for someone commercially sharp, proactive and confident speaking with business owners, fleet managers, operations managers and senior decision-makers. You do not need to come directly from vehicle recovery, although experience in logistics, transport, fleet services, supply chain, commercial vehicles or a related B2B service environment would be highly relevant. You should have:

  • Proven experience in B2B sales, business development or account management
  • A track record of generating new business and growing customer accounts
  • Experience selling into transport, logistics, supply chain, fleet, automotive, vehicle recovery or similar markets
  • A consultative sales approach, with the ability to understand customer needs and offer tailored solutions
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Confidence managing the full sales process from prospecting to close
  • Strong CRM discipline and accurate pipeline management
  • A proactive, self-motivated and target-driven approach
  • The ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
